Thinking of selling OP1

Thinking of selling my OP1, just wondering what would other people buy with the cash if they were in that position

Possibly put it toward the new MPC if it turns out to be as good as it sounds. Might be the best box out there for portability when itā€™s released so would be a good replacement for op-1 in that sense if thatā€™s something you want/need.

If portability is indeed a concern, consider the new MPC will be larger than an Elektron at 8" x 16"

Ironic thing is that it seems like it would be great WITH an op-1ā€¦ If itā€™s possible to record op-1 sequencer in to mpc via USB could be super quick/funā€¦ Not sure if itā€™ll do that thoā€¦

Thatā€™s not ā€˜tooā€™ badā€¦ My OT was basically portable the first few months I had it before I had all the cables in my patch bay etc. Dragged it round the house 24 hours a day  With a battery it would have been fineā€¦

whats the new MPC called? Trying to find out more about it

Mpc Live. Thereā€™s a thread like 10 threads below this one

haha ok cool

I have bought and sold the OP-1 3 times now!!! haha. Definitely done with it now. I think I put the cash towards my AR but not 100%. MPC Live potentially is more in line with what I am looking for but Iā€™m going to sit and wait on user reviews before joining that party (or not).

Iā€™m still mostly ITB and with Ableton/Push on sale just now Iā€™m guessing Live 10 might not be too far off so if I had an OP-1 to sell again Iā€™d keep the cash handy for my DAW upgrade. Still resisting a Komplete 11 upgrade for nowā€¦

traded mine + cash for AR. I miss sampling, especially off of the radio, but nothing else. Yet.

Thinking of selling my 2nd OP-1. Very fun little device. I think of it as a Swiss Army Knife of sound and electronic music. Constantly amazed with all the little hidden functions and brilliant design that went into it. Butā€¦ I just donā€™t think it fits my way of making music, as in songs. For goofing off and having fun with sound, I love it. But I can think of a few other things Iā€™d rather have.

Microgranny
TB-03
Moog Mother-32

Ye it is cool device and maybe I just havenā€™t given it enough time but when I see a piece of kit sitting around, not being used and not being used in actual tracks by me I think about selling.

And I HATE selling gear too. Iā€™ve been making tracks recently just on the computer. Tomorrow I start back at the hardware set up. Maybe Iā€™ll hook it up to the OT and see how we get on. That MPC sounds pretty good too.

Have you tried using the OP-1 sequencers via USB midi to sequence stuff ITB? Keep meaning to try it. Itā€™s a fun/quick workflow with an ipad. Might be something youā€™d dig if youā€™re heavily ITB? Also, have you updated to the leaked beta? You def should if havenā€™t already

I have not tried the new OS, is it available from their site?

Link up top. Itā€™s worth installing for the arpeggiator alone

Lovely thanks, will give it a blast tomorrow so.

Second that!! The new presents are gems as well.

Seems alien, shouldnā€™t loose value, hours of experimentations ahead

Hey,
What i found with mine op1:

pros: sampling from the radio and external sounds was really cool. When I sold it, i shipped it with an awesome sequence sampled from the song ā€œhere i go againā€ from white snake ; )

cons: thin tiny sound

I sold it and put the money towards a minimoog voyager rack edition (it was on sale for $1999 before it was discontinued). I had to put in a little more money but never looked back.
