All the best and hopefully you come back to this thread and offer your feedback and thoughts.

Thanks for this. I’ve been awaiting the release of this for a while. :joy:

Just used code pbrl-keyc.

very nice job! thanks for sharing it

Thanks Peter,
This one does mean a lot to me and has a lot of memories of people and companions lost poured into it on certain tracks.
Hopefully it gains some traction of the sale front but that can easier said than done these days it seems and I don’t have the budget for vinyl releases so opted for best possible second party mastering solution possible (all analog and in a great studio/control room with a skilled Mastering Engineer).
Hopefully the fine attention to detail pays off on the arrangement and mixing front too.
Have a fantastic weekend and do enjoy - i hope some of it floats your boat.
All the best,
Oscar

Very nice sounding.

Downloading now…

Not usually my style of music but I’m literally blown away by the detail I can hear in these tracks. This is the first digital download of electronic music (other than mixes) I’ve ever done… Well done fella, you’ve made my weekend.

Many thanks everyone for the kind words and support.
Just a reminder that the album is still available for 15% off until December 4th 11:45PM EST .
And I am glad you’re enjoying it 853 - I worked hard on the production to get the best mixes and production standard I could from my home studio.

Just blew my paypal load but stick it in the wishlist for later. As always, killer stuff dude.

Thanks Nedavine

Seems peeps were using codes out of order. I tried the first code and it worked lol. Thanks!!!

Excellent

Been playing this nonstop for that last week. Really lovely stuff. Great job, man!

Thanks Accent.
Truly great to know people are enjoying it.

As one of the folks who ended up using one of the codes, I thought it would only be fair to return to the thread and offer both my thanks and give some feedback.

Here is my mini review…
This release is very good. Very original and unique grooves and textures. I’m always surprised when hearing your stuff, knowing how much you use the MnM and A4 that the patterns never seem static. And you never quite know what to expect either.

I also want to offer a compliment the use of the strings and piano on this album (can we call things albums anymore, I think I will anyway). I think that those elements really highlight this release providing a serene, placid counterpoint to the often glitchy (not sure if that is the best word to describe it, but that’s what I have) synths and drum grooves.

Ascendant - Piano and strings contrasted against a quirkey bassline and what sounds like drums from the MnM.
Beneath still waters - I thought the title is kind of a misnomer. I expected something a bit more peaceful. Apparently under the still waters is lots of quirky synths, bass, and drum grooves.
Jitter - another thing where after realizing the title I expected something a little different. It wasn’t quite as jittery as I expected. But
Allegory - Piano with delay, ambient synth percussion hits. My favorite track of the album.

The track Jitter was titled that way due a huge driver issue that cause really severe midi jitter, so much that the main bass, fm pads and pinging doppler lead ended up getting tracked live before managing to resolve the problem.
Ended up preferring this version but the title stuck.
Ascendent Drums are a Mix of MnM, A4 and sampled 606 and 707 kits ;).
Funny isn’t it ?
For me the top of still water is calm but you never really know what is lurking underneath and the track was sort of a metaphor for what can lie beneath a crystalline and placid veneer.
Allegory is a favourite of mine too.
For a frame of reference the whole album does have a structural arc from the beach of my father with “Future Imperfect” followed by the passing of my dog Sara some 6 months later.
Living away from family I didn’t realize what an anchor point she had been in keeping me steady throughout my fathers illness.
Everything else is sort of the journey to some sense of resolution and finding of peace with Allegory reminding me of my childhood and times spent with my parents.
The rest vacillates between states of calm, confusion and freneticism and frustration and using the strings and pain as anchor points helped offer the “counterpoint” needed when I had those serene and often reflective moments.
Even at its most manic I it still manages to maintain an odd juxtaposition of composure, restraint and ambience (it sort of shouldn’t but it does).
The whole thing was dedicated to the memory of my father.
So I kind of poured my heart into the production and hopefully managed to create something that speaks well of the deliberate attention to detail played.
I don’t often talk about my work so openly but I am in all honesty really proud of this body of work and it holds up well played from start to finish in its entirety.
Thanks for taking the time to make such a considered and thoughtful reply. It is truly appreciated.

Got this about a week ago, had many listens. I like it a lot, the complex timbres, plentiful details. Solid work.
