That could possibly work for one pattern, but what happens when you switch to the next pattern that’s still supposed to have a sustained note?
I find that an experimental approach to Digitone has been the most fruitful for me (as is usually the case with any synth I have). If I try to go for a very specific kind of sound and try to knob turn my way there, I usually don’t end up where I want, in part due to me not really fully grasping the synth and/or FM synthesis in general. However, if I approach it by just wanting to explore sound and go somewhere (anywhere), I usually find some insanely interesting (and rewarding) sounds.
It’s really an oddball. It’s quite easy to make it sound “pretty”, but the real awesomeness is when you go weird, in my opinion.
