I think that little bit of warmth is crucial for setting the mood. Although the Martians might not understand, it makes it palatable for us Earth dwellers

What are the limits of “unaltered”?
Can be cut, faded in/out?
No pitch, no filtering, no eq, no fx?

My understanding was no cuts, no FX, no manipulations. So that’s what I did.

How many Samples are there to choose from? I find that you don’t have much choice unless I missed some.

Yes, I think so, I looped the Rover Fluid Pump sample as a sort of drone.

Here’s my effort “Soil & Rust” …

This definitely made for an interesting challenge. I left a detailed description on the soundcloud link, but I’m happy to provide more detail if anyone wants it. I didn’t get this track mastered as I wanted to leave it feeling a little off, rough, strange.

cool, i used a lot of tape saturation and made everything wobble a little, lots of distortion, even a bit of clipping on the master track in a few spots. left all the rough edges in.
