This music was a total obsession for many years starting in my early teens. Started with catching the odd Massive Attack and Portishead videos on MTV and eventually grew to the Ninjatune roster and beyond. The abstract turntablist side of it carried such a sense of raw, underground authority & experimentation.

Posting more as the memories come back! I always hated the stoner connotation because that’s not how I got in contact with it, it just appeared as great music for naturally dreaming minds.

I love “The Crow” so much, but hadn’t played it in years. Thanks for the reminder!
