greetings all,
just received an urzwerg pro mk2 from thomann and am frustrated cause it isnt transmitting sequencing data via the midi out. Ive tried it on a number of synths to no avail. any help would be most appreciated. the thought of shipping it back to thomann and waiting for another is depressing

Hi,
I have the Urzwerg Pro Mk1 1.
Although I just use it via CV, I borrowed it to a friend, and he hooked it up to Ableton and could record all the 4 rows on 4 different Midi channels. So it does work.
Be sure to check the kryptic configuration via the Program Button, of Midi, the 4 Rows etc., it´s tricky.

hi, thanks for the response yeah, the manual is not the greatest regarding the midi and system/ program settings… I have a feeling its a simple thing I aint doing properly… will keep trying.

Pressing and holding Program, allows using the step switches to control the following MIDI- and general features:
Row 1: MIDI-Channel 1-8; Row 2: MIDI-Channel 9-16 (only one channel to be selected)

(only one setting possible):
4 x monophonic (1st track w. selected MIDI-Channel, plus following 3 channels) 4-voice-polyphonic (selected MIDI-Channel)
3-voice-polyphonic / Row 4: (selected MIDI-Channel)
2-voice-polyphonic / Row 3 and 4: Velocity (selected MIDI-Channel)
2 x monophonic / Row 3: Velocity, Row 4: Modulation Wheel (CC#1)
2 x monophonic / Row 3 and 4: Modulation Wheel (CC#1)
2 x monophonic / Row 3 and 4: Velocity
2 x monophonic / Row 3: Modulation Wheel (CC#1), Row 4: Velocity

(all functions can be active simultaneously, set LED on/off to activate/deactivate): OFF = gate, positive slope; ON = gate, negative slope
OFF = gate, 10 volts; ON = gate, 5 volts

5/6 To set the quantize scaling, use buttons 5+6 in combination:

OFF/OFF= semitones; ON/OFF= whole tones
OFF/ON= pentatonic scale; ON/ON= hexatonic scale

hi, i got the urzwerg too. works perfectly with my monomachine and analog four via midi.
do you recieve any midi data out of it? what exactly is not working?
make sure to check midi settings as described in the manual - can be a little bit clumsy, but i found it working quite well. also be sure to set the clock to external, as well as actually starting the sequencer via start/stop when syncing to external clock.
hi, thanks for getting back to me. the CV is working fine. im trying to sequence the blofeld with it via the midi out but no sequence data coming thru. have checked manual and tried everything conceivable. can u walk me thru step by step how to set up the midi. its syncs to external clock just fine…
