US prices really did go up at Elektron shop

I just checked at the Elektron shop and the A4 is at $1349 (was at $1149 previously?)

I’m glad I stumbled on that JRR newsletter a month ago and got my funds ready a couple of weeks ago to order an A4 before the jump.

Seems like the other machines didn’t jump as much (or at all?)

The octa went from 1249 to 1349. Ordered my a4 last Thursday, glad I heard about the rise too.

I don’'t remember how much MnM and MD were last week, but OT was 1150€, now it’s 1290€.

The A4 got hit most hard, from 1050€ to 1290€. Thankfully I just bought one last week, just in time.

I still got to get an OT though, even with that price. Thank god for tax returns!

Sunday, 15 September 2013:

$1149 USD A4
$1289 USD OT
$1539 USD MD UW+
$1239 USD MnM
$1039 USD MD

Tuesday, 17 September 2013:

$1349 USD A4
$1349 USD OT
$1549 USD MD UW+
$1299 USD MnM
$1099 USD MD

Only a $60 increase on the OT is something I can live with. I was afraid it was going to be more like $200. Whew!

Thanks for the heads-up at that time because took advantage of time frame to get my new A4.
This new price is still really a great deal for all we get and a three year warranty, and updates.
Not that I ever imagine selling my A4, but simple economics mean used prices will most certainly go up…am looking at this more from perspective of potentially getting a second A4 in future.

I think someone else posted the JRR thing back then, and then I got an email from them as well with the same info. I was going to wait until the holidays or the new year to pick one up, but that bit of news made me go for it earlier.

I agree, these price moves should have some effect on used prices as well, at least in this part of the world.

a year ago they were on BACK TO SCHOOL sale… wooops!!! They’re making up for the loss?

Exchange rates and higher costs for manufacturing are sure to be among reasons. Europe’s economic situation is precarious as USA in 2008 to present quasi-recovery. Musicians Friend almost always offers percentage off deals with most recent one 13% off with the “Friday The 13th Deal”.
Rather know something is made without slave or child labor in Sweden than the alternatives.

Looks like at least B&H in the US hasn’t raised prices (yet).

Prices here in Japan have stayed the same luckily. However, DSI stuff has sky rocketed. The tetra was only 79,000 yen but is now 109,000 yen. I think I heard somewhere that elektron opened a Japan factory? Maybe that’s why. Still good news for me. I still want an A4.

You so need an A4! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wife and bank balance, aren’t they the same thing, you make lots of deposits with little return. :joy: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
