howdy!

for a very long time i thought a microbrute would be a cool little controller for the analog four but the lack of mdi out port kinda is like a wet blanket.

would you be able to use a cable like this so you could play the a4 with the microbrutes usb out??

Nope, the A4 would need to be a USB host, which it isn’t, in order to recognise the MB as a slave midi compliant client, which it is.

There is another recent post about this and what devices you need in the middle if you don’t want to use a full size computer.

A good solution for this is the iConnectMIDI2+. The 4+ is brilliant, but possibly overkill if you only need it for a couple of devices.

Basically it can act as a USB host, and route MIDI from the USB port to the MIDI DIN ports (or another USB port …).

Very powerful, very useful!

And works with iOS devices if you dabble in that side of things.

thanks for the replies lads! really appreciated! i will check out the iconnect thing, but maybe its just a better idea to look into getting something else to control it…ah well!
