Using Pickups to record long stems for Static

I had a revelation today whilst at the park with my little one. I was thinking how to best record in my little PO33 song pieces that might exceed Flex limitations, with an eye to playing Static Loops.

I then eurekad and realized PUM might do this! Does anyone know if the PUM could conceivably record a full track or stems? I am hoping to get a full 4-6 minute recording into a PUM and then save to the CF card for Static playback. Is this possible??

PS (My PO33 isn’t here yet otherwise I would test this out)

PSS (trying to do this entirely sans computer)

You can certainly do this, but you can also do it with manual sampling or one-shot recorder…

Probably easiest on a new project so there’s no samples in memory, turn on dynamic recorders in the memory config, go to a recorder set up and select one2mode and set rlen to max…

With those settings the recorder or pickup will be able to record until all OTs memory is used…
16 bits : 8m28s (508s)
24 bits : 5m39s (339s)

Are you wanting to midi sync it and record while sequencer is going or do you just need to record?

Thank you for this topic! I completely forgot about that! So in practice I could use the OT as track-recorder

Sweet, thanks! No need for midi sync at this point, thanks for the info!

With the above settings made on a new project, all you need to do is press the track button of the recorder you configured + either a/b or c/d depending on which you want to record, and the OT will record those inputs until the memory is maxed.

You don’t even need to load any machine to a track or press play even.
Press stop or repeat track+a/b,c/d to stop…
