Thank you!! @sezare56

I’d describe this as sounding like a Minipops or CR78 with some very extensive circuit bending! Great stuff.

I analyzed the sound of the CR78 and created these patches.

I’ve actually never tried multi map with my A4 but now I have a Torso T-1 I think it’s probably the ideal time to try!

Been a min since I sat down to make some tracks.
Using the AK for drums is fucking amazing!
Definitely cool way to switch things up and feel like I am making fresh tracks.
My RYTM is in for repairs, but I am planning on using it for bass, melodies, and samples for this set I’m working up.
So STOKED.
I needed this to get out of my music rut.

Well you are in for some fun times because multi map is a ton of fun.
Also, eons ago, I created a Lemur patch that I think enhances multi-map (think Octatrack scenes). Unfortunately Lemur is no longer supported so who knows how long it will work on future IOS builds. But someone might still find it interesting. Available in the Lemur archives. Here’s an old (cheesy) video and I apologize that this is quite off topic:

Here’s some more Analog Four drums! I finally finished the A4 Drum Machine Killer sound pack,
it features 66 drum patches, 16 kits, and 16 sequences. Here’s a no talking demo.

Have we already talked about how the Analog Four tends to ’swallow’ some drum hits in Multimap mode?

Something odd happens to the… I guess envelopes of the hits at times. Seems to be happening when you switch from one drum to the next. The latter drum just becomes a click, or an odd small woosh.

I think this can happen if a sound relies on a high level of filter resonance. The resonance seems to take some time to “build up”. So switching quickly to a such a sound via Multimap or sound locking can give weird results.
There are tricks to make the sound hit quicker, eg, using an extremely short envelope, just a click, to pop open the filter cutoff. Seems to excite the resonance. Experimentation needed here

In fact Multi Map Edit mode suffice to play and record on tracks 1-4. No need for midi loopback.

But midi loopback can be used to record Multi Map with CV and FX track.

For those that use the A4 as a drum machine, what does the Perkons have or can do, that A4 can’t? It seems to me that the A4 runs around the Perkons in circles, but I still see people on the forum praising it. What are your thoughts?

Direct hands on control of the parameters without changing screens/pages. While the A4 can probably go places the Perkons cant due to being 4 full mono synths, the Perkons can get you there very quickly, the A4 would probably take quite a bit of tweaking and page changing to get to the same place. I dont own the Perkons, but have a Vermona Perfourmer. The Perfourmer doesnt have the depth of my A4, but its focused on sounding great and ultra fast to set patches with full on knob per function control.

Just different design philosophies and usages
