The Virus TI has two modes, single and multi. You can address one voice in single and up to 16 voices in multi mode. The Virus can receive 16 midi channels simultaneously. If you are in single mode you may use the “global channel” to control one voice. Default this would be channel 1 to 16, depending on the users preferences.
What you mean with “middle channel” is unclear. Seems not to be a common technical term.
Goto page 125 of the manual and you will find the information about midi. On the machine it’s in the menu. The Virus TI is a very complex machine. You will be lost without reading at least some parts of the manual.
That’s quite a gift! I need friends like this. You can download the manual and its supplementary materials from the Access website, under “Support” and “Manuals.”
I agree with SoundRider. I think that’s solid advice for any machine, at any experience level. There’s a method to the Virus TI’s madness, but there are a lot of buttons and features behind those buttons. I’d keep a digital copy of the manual handy for quick reference.
