Waiting for our Syntakts to arrive

I’m thinking maybe I should cancel my order at Moog and get one directly from Elektron… I’m going abroad in two weeks and god knows when they will get another batch

I would call Moog first to see if they have any ETA.

I did and as you said, they have no idea. He just told me that they only got 22 on the 80 units they have ordered.

I cancelled my L&M order this morning. Ordered from Elektron yesterday (assuming it was after their business hours) and had a shipping notice this morning. It’s up to fed ex now, but I assume this is going to be way faster than waiting for L&M to bring in stock.

Nice, did you get the ‘bundle’ or are they sold out?

It didn’t say “bundle” on the order, so I don’t think it was available. I’m honestly so jacked up about the possibility of getting it next week, I don’t even care. :joy:

I trust FedEx way more these days, it may take a bit longer than they say but it will arrive. UPS stole 3 iPhones in a row on their way to me this year. Like Apple tried shipping it to me 3 times, and they stole them all.

It’s not the same as DT/DN as you can’t adjust each mono channel level and sends separately.

As of now, you’re right but I think it’s an omission. It wiil eventually be there. The Dual switch that I’ve requested (maybe I should put it in the bug thread) should switch the graphics from Mono to Stereo.

But keep in mind the nature of the inputs are unique to the ST, the assumption is stereo analog through to (routable) AFX … so left may stay left and therefore it’s not quite as useful to separate channels that could otherwise be centre panned as per DT etc. I’m not 100% on what :3lektron: have baked in to this for potential flexibility - we’re veering a bit off-topic, but is it any less off-topic as a bug report (bugs are more unexplained behaviours than absent preferences) … just some food for thought given your prediction above, there’s maybe hope, time will tell

I’m curious how the Syntakt release compares to DT/DN releases. It seems like there is a tonne of excitement surrounding this new box. Was it the same when the other two were released? Do you think Elektron’s reach has expanded? Are there more hardware music makers these days?

You have a good point, ST Inputs may be different than DT and DN. Assuming this, both Mono signals would always have the same Settings (Delay, Reverb and Volume)?

To put you in the ambiance of that time (this guy could sell me the most useless crap, if he knows his stuff I’d buy it):

To answer your question more seriously, yes I think their reach has expanded a lot with the DT and DN, mostly because of their price point compared to the other machines like the dark trinity.

When the Digis came out, I had yet to fall down the Elektron rabbit hole. The M:S / M:C releases certainly didn’t create this much of a buzz at launch.

Can’t wait to take the ST for a spin…

Those things should be talked about in the Reviews and/or in the Manual.

They were big releases too but the pandemic has expanded the reach of a lot of existing companies, and more people bought instruments, I imagine including Elektron synths drum machines groove boxes. They have been high in reverb year end sales for a few years and more people bought instruments so I’m sure they’ve got their biggest fan base yet

Was doing my obligatory RTFM duties prior to its arrival and I noticed something quite different in the Syntakt manual. It has a sense of poetry, and humor unlike all their other boxes’ dry intro. Even the UI graphics are more playful in nature. I think the Models-series started this evolution for them. The outer box may still be classic but they’re definitely hitching it to a younger soul.

I’m familiar with some of these instruments.
