Just wow!

Well, there is the WMD/SSF Monolith: http://www.analoguehaven.com/wmdssf/monolith/
But still, that Waldorf board just looks sleek as all get-up. Nice.
And Waldorf building + keyboard quality is usually top!
Drool.
Must…stop…NAAM GAS…
Wow. Wonder how much this will cost? Avoided modular til now due to lack of space and portability for shows and the temptation to add to it when I can’t afford it. This looks like it would rid all thoss issues… Ok, the last one I’ll probably have trouble with, but still… Could build a really interesting analog/sample hybrid station, depending on what you can fit in there… Time for me to do some reading up on modular
My guess is it’s because most Eurorack owners want more space for modules than a keyboard w/ built-in rack will allow.
Thinking about it and from what I’ve seen in modular maybe a 4 octave would have made a little more sense with some extra space for another 1 or 2 modules? There’s not much room in there to get really crazy? Would love to get some of the weirder sample/drum machine modules + 3 voice analog all crammed together… Don’t really know what I’m talking about tho, maybe possible? Anyone recommend good place online to try and quickly learn about modular and what’s out there?
37 keys, perfect.
Hate to say it but this might finally push me toward Eurorack.
Unless it’s upwards of $1500 for the kb, in which case I’ll just seek out a used Pro 2.
Also, I may have had too much coffee today.
Iam guessing around 500euro for the keyboard and in addition like 900 for those 4 modules. I also read that it has a fatar keybed and 100hp space for modules.
You could make it an 88-key keyboard and it still won’t have enough space for the Eurorack crazies out there. On MW, they’re already complaining about how wide the Waldorf modules are.
The standard seems to be two racks minimum. I forget how much space per rack in HP. That is one reason they call it “EuroCRACK” - you fall into the “oh its just one more module mentality” and before you know it, you’ve filled up your Eurorack case with modules.
Dunno which modular synthesis tutorial is best for learning as Google turns up a bunch.
I’ll probably just work through tutorials for the virtual modulars I have on IOS (Caustic’s modular, iVCS3, etc.). Might even spring for Audulus 3 and work with the tutorials for that too.
Check out the Reaktor Blocks tutorials for virtual modular. Old Nord Modular videos are also very informative.
Those modules are absolutely gigantic compared to every other manufacturer. Keyboard looks great, I’m interested of those additional plugs and controls on left side. Looks perfect for lowest part of eurorack wall with only end chain controls!
Will make a great A4 companion if it also provides CV-to-MIDI translation and isn’t priced above 500€/$.
Total swiss army knife with KB MIDI out going into A4’s multi-map, and/or MIDI modules, with the A4 CV track commanding the eurorack modules.
Like an AK with rails and MIDI note out!
Congrats! And enjoy!
A year later and I haven’t progressed much in my modular knowledge. Not the fault of any tutorials. I did get Audulus 3, at least.
cool idea, great for learning, as is the Moog app, so i hear.
i found the image above while surfing and posting, grabbed the image for reference as i tried to quote an image from a previous post but it didn’t work … so, I guess congratulations are in order for finding such a cool image of the kb37 but it ain’t mine. Yet.
The Model 15 app has nice tutorials for learning how to connect modules to get a basic sound. I’m amazed at how usable they made it on the iPhone and its smaller screen.
The number of Audulus tutorials exploded after the release of Audulus 3. Been meaning to play more with Audulus 3 but got sidetracked by having to practice for a couple of shows last year.
i eventually sold my iPad although would buy another to edit the Deepmind 6 with, in some gloriously imagined future. Would grab both apps also to start preparing for my tracksuits-and-eurorack phase.
