Kinda lost track since there’s been so many. But some of the standouts off the top of my head have been:
Devs
Britannia
The Goldbergs
Hunters
Upload
Sex Education
Impastor
Rome (only a few episodes to go)
Also been watching a metric f*cktonne of movies.
But I’m with @DEEPMOSES in that it’s not such a good thing to be doing. Finishing off Rome today before my latest trial subscription ends and then I’m out.
Still on quarantine??
I had about 10 days…
Anyway, watching
What we do in the shadows
Community
Rick and morty
Breaking bad
The umbrella academy
Got to season 5 of Breaking Bad and had to put it down for a while. These days I start picking apart characters and tend to dislike them. I hate almost all the characters in breakin bad.
Oh, and I got into Brockmire big time until the latest season was released and was so turned off by the story fast forward. It felt like a great show was stolen from me. Tbh, only season 1 and 2 were great though
Finally filled a sizable hole in my soul and watched Community from start to finish. It was not available in Finland or in any of the streaming services until I recently got Amazon Prime.
Easily goes into my top ten tv-series ever list. The only downside being that I can’t really take Childish Gambino seriously as a rapper anymore.
I had a huge Netflix Marvel marathon earlier this year (january/february) and watched Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist etc. all back to back (in the correct order of course). Ended up loving Jessica Jones the most. She’s such a badass. Never saw her in any of the Marvel Comics but she ended up being my favourite of the bunch. Then again Guardians Of The Galaxy -movies are my absolute favourites of the Marvel movies even though I didn’t know anything about the characters upfront.
@Sherelle Wasn’t meant as a personal criticism. I was just pointing out how folk pick-up buzz terms just because they’re the colloquial currency of the minute. “Power watching” sounds like it was thought up in the marketing department of Netflix and spread by mercenary social media influencers and critics; “binge watching” implies over indulgence, whereas “power watching” implies the viewer is somehow empowered; quite obvious the boards at Netflix, NBO etc would prefer the latter!
seriously though I recommend David Earls youtube channel
Cumbo and Brian Gittins are the most nuanced and brutally sad English comedy characters in the last ten years, you have to jump in at the right point to “get it”.
Hey Duggee marathon yesterday Maddie’s Do you know marathon today
Raising kids would be so much more fun if I was allowed to take drugs.
We’re all pretty happy though because me jnr. seems to have grown out of watching Bing, who has to be the single worst character in the history of TV, whiny little punk.
We did manage to watch the last dance a couple of weeks ago, which was excellent.
Ahh, not Bucket, its Miss Bucqee ahahaa!
For me, i would say its more of a nostalgic factor… This and Crystal Maze, Countdown, Weakest Link, Twin Peaks and many others… reminds me of moving to UK as a child and figuring out english with all these shows… Sweet times and Amiga being the ‘thing’ OH and TELETEXT!
Also my guilt pleasure of ‘Power Watching’ would be The Apprentice UK with Lord Sugar… Such a ridiculous setup
I started to watch the unusual character Jessica Jones after watching the short series Defenders (Luke Cage, Dare Devil, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones). I didn’t know they were related and I kind of only knew Dare Devil. Before that, I saw 2 or 3 episodes of Iron Fist (didn’t gel with it). I didn’t watch Luke Cage (don’t know if I will).
But I agree with you about Jessica Jones and Guardians of the Galaxy. I will add Deadpool to the list of my Marvel’s favourites.
