What becomes funk: Inspiration

For me it’s always been experience that has inspired. This led me into the world as first an observer, seeking experience and different ways. Then from observation to actor. Rinse and repeat… Inevitably, growing up in the Mid Atlantic US this exposed me to the heights of art and entertainment but also to what I call “the urban stain” and the collective suffering by a sizable portion of city dwellers. Inevitably still, it led me beyond the noise and odor of The city and onward to experience the wilderness; mountains and deserts and oceans.

My inspiration ultimately is connection which I’ve come to know through all my experiences is a real thing. It is irrespective of words or titles but is a result of a determination to be strong vs. defend weakness. We grow thought connection, not become emotionally unstable. When we are disconnected from what is real we become shaky, anxious.

I’m inspired to play music because I hope I can connect people together, and those connections can restore all sorts of things both community and cosmically.

What inspires you to get funky?

Making ambient jams to put my dog to sleep.

Funk… you’ve either got it or you haven’t. It’s less a style than a fundamental feeling.

Seems fitting :slightly_smiling_face:

You’ve got to keep it on the one.
