Why has no one built the perfect sampler yet?

Time stretching at any point (before or after chopping) needs to be standard. Sp404 mk2 got this right. I like koala sampler’s implementation also

Audio via usb to get samples in easy (without bulky 1/8 to stereo 1/4 cable and a dongle potentially) should also be standard

Pretty sure I’ve got an eight output board in my poor old 2000XL, which has been waiting for repair for years. I used to swap it between my XL and 2000 regularly. I think I still have a SCSI to IDE adapter somewhere too, which was a godsend in my days of messing around with rack samplers. Came in a used S5000 but worked fine with the Yamaha A series, too. Throw in SCSI terminators and the young folk don’t know they’re born.

I do love the S6000. I have an S2000 with 8 outputs too, but it’s way more difficult to chop things up on.

i keep wanting to buy an s6k for the nostalgia of something i couldnt afford then. I’d prolly use it for a week and then it would collect dust. :frowning:

Probably would. It depends how you like to sample and process sounds. I love my old samplers but the stuff now available in software is really on another level.

its more convenience for me. and ‘convenience’ is just another way of me white lying about being lazy.

I wish that was the case for me. I use so many LFOS now and just a lot of more modern functions that I could not do on my old Akais.
