It would be useful to have a stereo mode for the ext inputs on the fx track.
If I’m running a stereo instrument, like the M8 tracker with no knobs, thru the fx track it would be cool to adjust levels and fx with one knob instead of having to synchronize knob twiddles
Can someone help me with the shortest path to accomplishing this task:
I make a custom sound for a track that I like and I want to save it to the sound pool so I can p-Lock it somewhere else, etc.
So far I have to save the sound to the +drive by pressing YES plus SND buttons. Then I have to go somewhere and select that sound to add to the soundpool (I can’t remember this part).
I’m not in front of it right now, but the key thing is you have to use the left and right arrows when you are in the Sound Browser and Sound Manager to Copy sounds to from tracks, the pool etc.
It’s very awkward and the thing about the A4 I like the least.
It really would benefit from a completely rethought approach.
Agreed. There’s something very unintuitive about that process of getting saved sounds into the sound pool, I always forget how (while whizzing around most of the interface after a year with it)
I see. It’s in the sound manager, one can use the right side menu to save the sound to the sound pool from there.
My question is, if you like a sound you are working on and desire that sound to be in the sound pool, do you have to first save that sound to the +drive, then go to the sound manager, then check the sound you just saved to the +drive and direct that sound (finally) to the sound pool?
Is this really the only way to get from “cool new sound on a track” to “cool sound in sound pool?”
would really like to see a project editor in overbridge for the A4. like take existing patterns and move them into different banks, or copy and paste patterns into different projects. would make arranging things for live performance way easier. As it is I have to copy and paste each pattern into different banks or even copy, load a whole new project, enter bank and then paste it. This is really annoying if your song has like 10 patterns in it or something like that
I also need something that saves all sounds from kits into the sound pool because I transferred everything over from my Analog Keys to an Analog Four and it includes all the kits and sounds associated with those kits but those sounds are not in the sound banks they were on my Keys. User error on my part and really just an inconvenience for me but yeah at least a “save all kit sounds to sound pool” option would be nice. So just to clarify, no I didn’t lose all 100+ sounds I had created and saved on my Analog Keys but they are only located in the kits and not the sound pool so bleh (maybe they’re in there somewhere but they aren’t in the bank I had them stored in on the keys, maybe I’m just not seeing it.)
another thing I wanted to do today was add a performance knob control to the unison detune in the kit page, don’t think it’s possible, that and unison spread would be neat to have as a performance mod.
Idk if I’ve mentioned it before but a paraphonic mode that splits the two oscillators on a single voice would be really neat as well.
Having the chance to store at least 4 arpeggiators on memory per track and be able to call them live at any time. So instead of having a sinlge arpegiator por pattern or track, simply having the chance to store on memory another 4. This will be simply fantastic for example when using a single track for Kick, Snares and Hats with the need to remember in waht steps you added which…another interesting think will be color coding per sound loaded slot per step.
It would be so cool if Sound Locked sounds carried with them their saved ARP state.
So you could have a pattern of 8th notes for example.
Then have the same sound saved in your sound pool with different ARP states.
Faster, slower, up, down, shuffle.
2, or 3 or 1 octave etc.
Sound lock on every 4th note with a 3 octave shuffle in double time.
Would make ratcheting not only easy, it would open up all kinds of rhythmic fun.
My dream feature for all Elektron machines would be to manipulate the audio coming from the FX returns in the box, like an extra audio channel. Imagine to p-lock the reverb tail or delay feedback with pitch shifts, plucky envelopes, rhythmic pumping filters, LFOs…
i seriously do not understand why this isn’t easier on both the A4 and the DN. Saving a made sound is so unnecessarily convoluted let alone assigning to a sound pool
Isn’t it curious that when not in step recording mode the trig buttons are useless? Seems a bit of an overlook of a decent UI opportunity there.
I should stop visiting this topic, it makes me hope and dream of so many possibilities on these machines that it brings me a kind of bitter disappointment. I see so much potential for these instruments but I should accept them as they are and look only for workarounds in the current OS - 99,9% of these requests will never happen.
