A4 Line Lemur Template

Hi Elektron Users,
I just finished an A4 Line Lemur Template that receives and sends all NRPN Messages…Here are some teaser pics…More Infos soon

that’s totally awesome! thanks for putting in the hard work. I can’t wait to see this finished.

now I can use my ipad as extended screen and touch control. this will make working with the A4 a lot more fun. i already considered starting a lemur project like this but i just couldn’t find the time.

will there be a button to update all parameters on this?

Wow, nice work!

Bad ass!!! That looks amazing. Thanks man you rule!!!

Thanks I’m just driving home…I’ll upload it today on the Liine User Page. One of the fun parts is moving the A4 knobs and seeing the params change in the template. An Instruction how to set it up is included…

Nice!

Did you figure out patch syncing? I was going to make an A4 editor myself but opted not to because Lemur can not handle a patch sysex dump from A4 and Elektron never got back to me with a sysex command to request a single parameter’s value. Because of this, I was never able to devise a way to sync the screen settings with the machine settings for existing patches.

I dont know what exactly you mean with patch syncing…As A4 patches are around 500kb they are unfortunately too large to be send as a dump to the template due to lemur restrictions but any changes you make to a patch will be reflected in the template and it doesnt matter if you do this on your A4 or the template, so as soon as you pull a knob everything is in sync. Ah I think now I understand…the Template works with NRPNs not with Sysex…Elektron didnt gave me the SysEx either but I would have loved to put some extra commands only available through sysex in there as well

Done - Download is ready in the Liine User Library

Very neat work! Looks logical and usable.

Thanks for this!

[color=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961)]you mean when you move a knob really EVERYTHING is in sync, or just that one knob?? that is the problem i was talking about before and the reason why i never bothered with putting together a template like this. does the A4 have a “send all parameters” midi command? i don’t think it does unfortunately but i was hoping you found some sort of workaround that doesn’t involve moving every single parameter every time a patch is changed just to sync everything up.

By patch syncing I meant basically what you described but done automatically so that you didn’t have to manually change each parameter in order for the template and the machine settings to match.

If Elektron had been able to provide the parameter value request sysex command it would have just been a matter of iterating over all the parameters individually to circumvent the terribly small and inconvenient input buffer limitation of Lemur.

But basically when I asked, Elektron said that they didn’t document the code well and they didn’t have time to look for it.

No not everything is in sync but this template is nice if you want to create a Sound or modify one. You dont have to Switch through all the menus on the A4 as you have all Parameters on the lpad displayed.
I think its much easier to create a Sound you have in mind on the template then on the small A4 Screen and the several menu diving.
I could implement a button that sends all the Params to the A4 but I dont know if that makes much sense cause you have to create it in the template first anyway. You could of course save the template Settings like a patch and with the ‘maybe implemented:-) send all Button’ then feed it to the A4 then everything would be in sync. There are also some functions in the template that are not directly available in the A4 like the OSC Octave Settings…

that is just totally lame. this would make such a huge difference for every user and they just can’t be bothered to look it up?? jesus…
i guess saving the patches in lemur and syncing the other way round could be an alternative but it does also complicate things again in a different way with having two different patch storages.
thanks for the great work anyway.

I think I’ll implement a snaphot recorder of the actual settings on a multipad. You would have than a patch storage within the template…

After about an hour, I gave up on getting this working with wifi. But with USB, it just took a minute.
What I’d love is some sort of dump request from the AK, to update all the Lemur controls to match which patch is loaded on the synth.

But thanks- it’s a great editor as is.

Would love to add that feature too but there are only 2 ways I could implent it…Elektron would give me the SysEx or liine will finally enhance their max. Sysex limitation - then i could decipher a patch dump…Im almost finished with the canvas style icons, then I’ll tackle a preset save function in the app and then the randomizer…

Wha ! F*g awesome news !
Thank you for that Iceleben, great work !

Rytm user, so can’t play with OB yet…
The Sysex message required for getting the values updated: Is Overbridge sending it out? Like with every time you initialize the connection or when you change a pattern/kit?
