I have programed pattern A1 and A2 to play a short loop for 16 beats, and set my CHNG length to 48 on pattern A1 so that when I chain A1 and A2 I get a 64 beat cadence with a dramatic flair at the end of the loop.
However, CHNG doesn’t seem to be overriding LEN in the advanced scale menu.
What am I missing here?

Maybe CHNGE has to be inferior to Master LEN. I’d try to increase it.
It’s not really overriding LEN like explained in the manual, but indeed both settings are in effect. Whatever happens first (the tracks reset defined by LEN or the number of steps defined by CHNG) will execute a chained pattern change.
I just tried setting CHNG to be shorter than LEN still not working. No matter what i try i cant get CHNG to change any thing. Could it be some type of global setting im not aware of. I have been controlling it with program changes from my MD for many months
Can you explain in detail what you really want to achieve?
It’s quite unclear what you are doing/using. Chain mode? Song mode? Remote control via program changes? Just manually changing patterns? What pattern mode (sequential, direct start/jump, tmp jump) are you using?
