A4 / Overbridge & Roland TR8 setup

Hello All,

Long time lurker, new user.

Just got the TR8 this week, with the 7x7 upgrade. Loving it to bits. (Especially synced with Xoxbox. Great combo.)

My problem is i can use A4 & Overbridge or TR8 via USB. (Neither seem to be in sync with Ableton?)

Either one on it’s own via USB works great in Ableton.

Can’t get no joy, even when doing an 48k Aggregate device.
(Listed as NI-Audio 6, A4/Overbridge, TR8)

Not really had much experience with aggregate devices.

Has anybody had similar troubles? Any tips…

Many thanks

Cheers
Lee

Spec:
Macbook Pro 2010 OSX 10.10.5
A4 / Overbridge v1.0
TR8 with 1.1.2 firmware & 7x7 upgrade
Ableton Live 9 Suite (9.2.2 64bit)
NI Audio 6 audio interface. (48k / 256 buffer)

hmmm it shoud work. I have an aggregat device:

Tr8
Analog Four
Motu 828 Mk II

46 channels of input ^^

recording 96 24bit audio into logic 9 works well (when we don´t talk about midi jitter)

Do just the sync didn´t work or do you get no audio from the inputs?

What i have to do in logic:
select aggregat device for audio input
switch to 96khz
turn on midi sync
turn on low latency mode when recording

I guess the TR8 has 14 audio streams, so the first audio channel of the Analog Four is audio input 15, the second A4 is audio input 16 … and so on

It should work on a similar way in Ableton. Someone wrote in another thread … you can force the tr8 to 48khz, when using your 48khz sound card first in the aggregat device. You need Yosemite (and Logic X) for that.

Try changing the clock source of your aggregate.

Cheers for the help guys.

Also seems to be the order of devices makes a difference from what i’ve read.

Soundcard First
TR8 Second
Elektron A4 Third

Haven’t tried it yet, as i’ve gone back to midi for now. Using a Thru box with the TR8 and record the audio of TR8 and connected devices into Ableton as a stereo pair.

Great for jams, with / without Ableton.

Cheers
