A4 suddenly stopped syncing

I have a habit of jinxing myself. Literally just responded to a post about how good OB sync has been and then this.

So, I’m running an A4 and RTYM over OB to Live.
Did some recording last night, recall been working well both ways, and no issues at all with latency and sync since the 22nd.

Today I had some random issues where the A4 would lose sound over OB and it appeared recall was storing blank sounds as it was fixed by a kit reload. Sync still works at this stage.

Then this eve. No sync. Same project, woke from sleep mode. Nothing.

So, reopened the project. No.
Then opened up the OB control panel and redid configuration. No.
Then deleted the A4 plug and reinstalled via C6. Updated the independent channel configuration too. No.
Reinstalled OB. No.

The Only thing I’ve done all day was to flip out of OB into Midi/USB mode when my laptop was downstairs, but everything seemed to work after that.

The RTYM has been kit glitchy (as per A4 recall) but sync has remained stable.

I’m using new gen Mac PB, latest Live, Overhub and even a couple of gifted Elektron cables. About as Elektron lab as you get.

I’m now mega confused… Ideas???

I’ve found that when my Mac goes to sleep or the screen saver kicks in, my OB goes spaz. I’ve since disabled sleep when connected to a power source.

What would happen is I would be playing all 4 A4 tracks live and recording in Ableton, the screen saver would kick in, cause I’m using hardware and not touching Ableton or OB. As soon as the screen ‘clicked’ into screen saver the A4 would lose all sound while all other hardware inputs functioned normally. Disconnecting the USB and reconnecting made that weird static screech happen as mentioned in other threads, as did powering the A4 down and restarting…

To solve the problem I needed to restart Ableton , disconnect my USB hub from the main power and computer USB connection and start all over again… Mega frustrating when you’re recording.

Disabling screen saver on the Mac seems to have stopped this issue so far…

Thanks for the tip - having similar issues here when the Mac goes to sleep (thats generally only overnight).

Seem to have resolved it by reinstalling the whole shebang; Live, OB, OS 1.22 across both devices. Royal PITA, and I hope it doesn’t happen again.

I’ve also noticed that kits often corrupt on recall, and patterns have been blanked also. My default position is recall off at this stage, save regularly an record nightly.

I’m hoping at some point we’ll get i) turn on ii) decide whether to jam or record iii) it’ll just work. For now I guess it’s still Beta though!
