Adding a sample to my machinedrum

Still getting used to my machinedrum, but having all sorts of trouble getting my head around how to add a sample to the machinedrum.

I gather you load the song/sound into C6 then upload it from there, but does the sound need to be a certain length/file size? And what type of file does it need to be?

I gather uploading an MP3 isn’t going to work.

I have searched high and low, and only found one video on YouTube that shows a guy using a sample from a radio on his iPhone, but there is no information on how this is set up to happen.

Any help would be great! In basics if you can. It’s all new to me.

imo, please take a look at the Machinedrum manual.

re length/filesize/format: MDUW has ca. 2.5 MB of sample memory (per bank, but only one bank can be active at a time). samples need to be uncompressed (wav & aif should be okay), best to use mono files. 2.5MB is not a lot, loading “songs” into it is probably out of the scope
