Aggregated Device or Overbridge for ext in recording?

So I’m using the Ext In L of the Digitakt for my new Moog Grandmother.

As far as i can tell there’s two ways to record the External Inputs via overbridge.

  • Standard route; multitracking including the Ext. Inputs. The confusing thing here is that the Post FX track has a higher signal than the actual Ext. Input track. Even without using reverb/delay…

  • Via an aggregated device seems like its doing the same thing, but summed. Is that correct? Can’t find it in the manual…

Edited for readability

Are you using the Digitakt as a USB audio interface? And so you have another USB interface you want to aggregate it with?

If the latter, I prefer overbridge, as you can use it along with any other audio interface setup.

Aggregating two usb audio interfaces adds a noticeable amount of latency.

Yeah im aggregating it with my focusrite, never had any latency issues tbh even with multiple elektrons aggregated.

I’m trying to understand the role of POST fx on the ext inputs though. Its louders than the input, wether i use direct monitoring or the mixer.
