AK sending unwanted commands to other gear?

Hopefully this is simple despite me not being able to work it out but…

Seems my AK is triggering connected hardware such as OT, e.g. filter on T1 was turning volume up on one of my OT tracks and also one of the keys triggering another synth to start the sequencer.

I use AK as MIDI Ext a lot to record MIDI notes into the OT midi tracks - could it be linked?

Feels like a nasty bug but maybe something simple I should be checking in Global settings? Any advice very welcome…

Probably not any kind of bug.

The OT has various note mappings for incoming MIDI note messages. Some of them include sequencer controls if the note messages are outside the two-octave range that can be used for triggering samples. See Appendix C of the manual. You probably want to use the chromatic mapping.

Your AK is also likely to be sending out MIDI CC messages from its knobs. You can stop this by:

  • setting ENCODER DEST to “INT” in the AK’s GLOBAL > MIDI CONFIG > PORT CONFIG menu,

or you can prevent the OT from responding by:

  • disactivating AUDIO CC IN in the OT’s PROJECT > MIDI > CONTROL menu.
