Can I use Akai Lpd 8 to controle the Digitakt directly through the USB cable connected to the Digi?
Searched all over can’t find a clear answer!?

no the digitakt does not act as a usb host.

Guessing this has changed since the update? I’d like to cheaply get velocity in without having to manually set each trig.

No. It does now act as a class-compliant audio interface to another device that is a USB host.

You could always pick up a USB host. Kenton do a good one, then build up with whatever midi/usb interface suits your needs
