Analog 4 FX track trigs - can you give more details?

Hi, I was looking at the Manual for the FX tracks and it says it can affect 5 parameters. However you can also parameter lock the note and arp pages. What does it do with these parameters please? I’ve seen a comment for the Rytm that the FX can send to Midi so perhaps that is it?

Secondly, you can have red or yellow trigs - what is the difference between these? I assume it could mean the yellow one doesn’t trigger the note but I’d need to know the answer to question 1 to understand that.
Cheers

Manual page:

9.14.1 THE FX TRACK

The FX track controls the Analog Four MKII internal send effects. To edit the FX track, press the [FX] track key. Five PARAMETER pages exist for the FX track:

EXT IN contains parameters relating to the external inputs. CHORUS controls the Wideshift Chorus effect.
DELAY controls the Saturator Delay effect.
REVERB controls the Supervoid Reverb effect.
LFO contains parameters for the two LFOs that can modulate the FX track parameters.

5 parameter pages as in “all the parameters these 5 pages offer.

You can plock parameters on the track.
Yellow are trigless trigs, red are standard trigs.
The difference is not really important for the FX track, but if you use it as CV it offers the choice to trig or not an envelope.

Half-bright red and red on the Mk1 and AK.
Just to avoid confusion.

Thanks - but what happens if I p lock the parameters on the notes or arp page? It appears I can as the background is inverted but didn’t know what it would do. Cheers

You can use notes for sequencing over cv/gate and since the firmware update you can also sequence over midi I guess? (I still haven’t updated mine…, so not sure if all six tracks can output midi).

If you don’t sequence anything from the fx track, it doesn’t matter.

i have a question regarding the FX. If im on a track and then I press the FX track button the track i was on is sometime a lighter red and then sometimes it just goes back to Green when the FX track turns red

whats the difference between these two reactions/behaviours of the track you were on turning either light red or straight green??

thank you

When it’s light red, you can still play the synth track you had selected before with a keyboard (never checked if you can still record onto the synth track’s sequencer, though).
Press the fx track button again and it’s really selected (guess that means it will respond to auto channel then, never tried that, though).
You can play the synth track while making adjustments on the effects, pretty handy.

i can‘t seem to find a way to Plock the ARP settings!?
nothing happens when trying to lock some tempo per step changes, it doesn‘t even get inverted :exploding_head:

The ARP page is not p-lockable on the A4.

Also not p-lockable.
