I just posted this in a thread, but I figured I would make a post about it. I’m having a problem using my analog four as a drum machine, and I need someone’s help with figuring out what’s wrong. When I lay down drums on my analog four, for some reason, every other time the sequence restarts, the velocity of the drum hits becomes less audible. So I’ll make a drum pattern, but every time it loops, the drums don’t hit at the same volume as the first. I don’t know if this is a problem with my specific unit or a setting problem. Everything else works fine with it, and I don’t have a problem when I sequence the synths. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem before? If so, what’s the solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How many Voices are you using? Have you checked the Amp Env (infinite or long Release)?
Following that check the envelope shape. For drums there should be a dot on the attack.
Also, are you in Poly or Mono mode?
Try setting an OSCX frequency mod on one of the envelopes, OR one envelope mod for each of the filters. It shouldn’t matter what they are set to, just that they are there. You can leave them at 0 in other words.
I was having pretty much the exact same problem until I did this. What’s going on is that without the filter mods on the envelope, the filter self oscillation is out of phase with the oscillators, and even if the oscillators are turned off, there is some drifting occurring. Applying the filter mods puts everything into sync.
Edit: I saved the patch and the project. Was working fine. Once I reloaded it, everything was out of whack again for some reason. Back to the drawing board.
