Analog Rytm Video Thread

Deep house track sounds so good!

Oh, agreed. Nice work with that last track/vid.

Like! Expand on that theme! Sounds great.

Iā€™m trying to figure out why the sound is bad when I record on a canon GF10 camera. I have the RYTM connected to the camera via some HOSA cables. Iā€™m thinking it might be the cables (suggestions)? Anyhow, here are a few RYTMā€™s iā€™m working on, thanks.

Hi all,

Great thread here and lots of cool videos. I have a question about producing these videos. I just had my new NIKON D5300 delivered and wondered if any of you guys are using one of these to record HD Video? Ivā€™e never tried it out yet (trying to google what the best SD card to get) seems to be a pretty good camera though I initially got it for photos of wildlife.

Thanks in advance

Rob

Well, thereā€™s no ā€œAnalog Rytm Audio Threadā€ so I hope you donā€™t mind me posting some audio-only clip:

Elektron Analog Rytm synth sounds only, no samples, no midisequencer, no postprocessing, Korg Nanocontrol.

Another attempt at creating a bassline.

Jamming with the AR track mutes, performance controllers, and some minor pattern juggling.

5th take.

sounds like youā€™re going in way too hot hence the clipping, try and turn down the volumeā€¦ other than that i like what iā€™m hearingā€¦ care to share whatā€™s going on? samples/ analog sounds?

Thanks for the advice. Itā€™s all stock sounds / samples. Do you or anyone else recommend a better way to record live sounds? I want the best audio. When i play live on my monitors and headphones it doesnā€™t sound like this. It sounds a lot better.

Sorry its a bit of an advert but all the drums and chords are made on the rytm.

Some random AR cuts. I pushed a tone into a Roland S700, which accounts for the last 30 seconds or so. Itā€™s an interesting machineā€¦

Not my video but I liked this one.

Some other cuts. It can get a little sexy.

little something I posted up today

@ KOTARE: I really like the sound design of your last 2 videoā€™s. Could you tell us how you got that sound?
Is it mostly samples with filter, or only the voices ect. Is it post/pre processed in a DAW?
I donā€™t have a AR yet btw

good stuff kotare!

The title reminded me of ā€œBug Powder Dustā€ from Bomb The Bass.
Atari STā€¦ Xenon 2ā€¦ The Bitmap Brothersā€¦ Almost feeling old!

Hi there. Yeah Iā€™m actually enjoying it a lot.
In 4 there is a single waveform sample for some synth sounds - maybe 10 seconds layered with an AR synth engine. Apart from that, itā€™s mostly the synth itself, with some sample layering, OD, and compression.
In 5 there are some percussion samples (the clicky, scissory stuff) layered with hat engines, apart from that itā€™s the same as above.
Both make good use of the sliding function, which yields some pretty fricken impressive results. With this, all parameters of a drum trigger slide towards the next drum trigger, not just VOL, AMP, and pitch settings, but all synthesis and FX parameters also. You can get some nice effects using slide to and from trigs which have zero VOL.
There is some DAW processing, but I printed these as 2-channel stereo inputs into a vanilla RME preamp - so no multi-tracking - just compression and saturation and some EQ on the 2-buss.

cool, thanks for sharing that. will try out.

I felt the same.
