Antiskating Turntable?

Hey there!
Just a short question to the vinyl heads.
Is there a way to adjust the antiskating on a turntable without an empty record?
a trick or rule? or do you just leave it like it is?

I feel like that’s a great question for YouTube.
I’ve definitely watched some DJ vids back in the day to learn anti skating techniques.
But since I’ve just left it alone and haven’t had many problems since

I’ve read that the blank record method doesn’t work, as the skating is produced by the force from the outer edge of the groove.

I do it by playing a record, with the needle (or cantilever, I guess) about halfway through the tracks, and then I look at the needle head-on. If it bends towards the center of the record, that means the tonearm is pulling too hard outwards, and I decrease anti-skate. And vice-versa.

I figure that if the needle goes straight down, I have it set right.

i heard a lot of things like adjust it to the number of the needle weight.
i have no problems at 0
was just wondering about it.

If the turntable will be used for scratching and heavy backqueuing, leave the antiskate set at zero. Otherwise, set the antiskate to the gram value of the tonearm weight.

The tonearm weight should be set according to the stylus manufacture’s specification, after it has been properly leveled and balanced.
