Anybody got a killer Cannabutter recipe?

Title says it all. Gonna make some eddies this weekend after a 5 year hiatus. I think I was decarbing @240 F before the infusion. I"m using butter and a crock pot, but am open to any other methods you recommend.

Use coconut oil and add a bit of water to it. The water pulls off the green veg taste and the fat/oil holds all the business.
Or so I hear…
I wouldn’t know amounts and stuff.

Interesting. I’ve heard the trick to getting rid of the chlorophyll flavor is to blanche it.

I would t want to go blanching my weed in something unless there was a bunch of fat there to catch that thc, but I could be wrong there…

Take up to 10g of weed, cut it and heat it up on a pan. Melt 200g of butter in water, drop the weed in it and leave it boiling for an hour (low heat). Filter it, let it cool down a bit, put it in the fridge. Butter will separate from the water, drain the water, you’re done.

Water cure the weed to get rid of the green!

I always use ABV (vaped weed). It’s already activated so you can literally just throw it in whatever. Works like a charm and it’s still potent. Best ROI from weed as well

Threw a good amount (ABV) into a bottle of vodka, left it there for 3-4 weeks. Out comes a very nice, easy to take, easy to dose tincture. Recommended!

The big secret that all of the big commercial operations use to make a consistently potent product, is mixing in a little bit of soy lecithin (or sunflower lecithin) to the mix. It is a natural emulsifier and as such prevents the fat molecules (what all of the THC bind to) from clumping and allows them to evenly distribute the active compounds through the butter.

I have also found that it cuts the herb-y flavor. This addition of lecithin is done when mixing the de-carbed cannabis with your fat (butter in this case)

also 240 is a bit high to decarb at. Some of the THC is gonna convert to CBN before all of the bud is decarb. I would recommend trying 220F and give it 30-45min. A good way to check is when you open the oven look at the tray straight on and look for any steam rising. If you see any its not done yet, since steam means that carboxyl groups are still breaking on the THC-A and releasing vapor as a by product.

I usual let it go until no more steam, then give it 3-5min extra. Also very important to let the decarb bud set over night. It need to come down to room temp slowly!

thanks for the tip. I never knew an overnight rest was recommended after decarb. I’m also going to scout for some sunflower lecithin. I’ll keep the group posted.

With the overnight rest thing, I actually don’t know from a scientific point of view what it supposed to be done, but up here in the mountains all of the old timer Colorado hippies have always told me that and their eddies ALWAYS smack, so i just kinda have always done what has shown to work i guess lol.

I did a decarb tonight with 1oz @ 220F. Covered the baking sheet with aluminum foil to capture the terpenes. Will rest overnight. Tomorrow I’ll infuse it with 4 sticks of butter in a double boiler - no crock pot here. I do have a pressure cooker w/ only a low/high setting, but I wouldn’t know to infuse butter with it.
