Anyma Omega Keyboard and Desktop - New from Aodyo

@Dymaxion, yes the four performance knob on the keyboard can be mapped to CC on an external controller connected to the desktop.

Great! That was the only thing I was pondering, looking at playing the desktop with a Linnstrument. Well, that and waiting with baited breath to see the MPE stretch goal reached.

I can back up; Phi’s just about the only project I’ve ever had deliver more or less on time and as expected. Eyeing this, because it seems to correct a lot of the problems I had with the Phi (basically the fact that on-device sound design was technically possible, but realistically you were tied to the editor).

I just bet on the project hitting 160K, and against me buying Osmose.

Easier for me to sound design, way nicer interface, lots of controls, a large color display, i know and like the basics of the synth, and while a few less dimensions compared to the Osmose, if the stretch goal is reached, equal to the Hydrasynth Keyboard i already own.

I’ll change my order if they are way off from the poly-aftertouch stretch, but right now, i bet that happens.

Making lots of bets here, but hey it is KS, so nothing is guaranteed, though Aodyo has my confidence.

They’ve hit goal in like five hours. And the desktop at super-early adopter level is almost gone now.

The Fatar® velocity sensitive semi-weighted synth action keybed providing mono aftertouch control will be replaced by a more advanced Fatar® model including polyphonic aftertouch. This means you will be able to get extra control on the synth engine with a per note aftertouch control.

Yes, if we reach €160,000, every keyboard version will be equipped with PolyAftertouch

Looks like MPE is just about unlocked, 7 hours in…

I’m guessing PA and CV at least aren’t gonna be a stretch. I wonder if we can get a stretch goal for a second voice card as an add-on?

It now is past that. All the super-early desktops and keyboards are sold. Things will slow up a little while going into the next level, but given how fast the first two sets of 50 sold, this product has crowdfunding legs.

What do you mean by a second voice card, Dymaxion ?

GAS must somehow be flame retardant as it seems recession proof…

Oh, like they’re doing on the Waldorf M — basically doubling the voice count, there from 8 to 16, here from 16 to 32. Under the hood, it’s basically just polychaining two synths together fed from the same interface hardware and then summing at the output and/or output effects. Then again, the M was designed for it and I’m assuming this wasn’t, so odds are it’s not remotely possible. Still, if it was, wouldn’t hurt to have a little more headroom if you’re using all four timbres…

So we’re jumping way ahead to assume additional stretch goals, but of the ones mentioned by Aodyo :

  • Breath controller input
  • Advanced ribbon controller
  • Digital audio I/O
  • VST/AU editor versions

I might vote for the advanced ribbon controller features depending what they were.

Given it sits next to the keyboard, i think of the Hydrasynth Keys, and figure it could be set up to match with the key positions matching pitch. The HS has a Theremin mode where one voice is given to the ribbon and is playable like the keyboard, with the modulation wheel as volume. The ribbon can also be used as a modulation source. It would be interesting what sort of things Aodyo might do with the ribbon especially in the context of a physical instrument.

Very, very, nearly at this stretch goal. I wonder if the new models will make their way to the Phi ?

new models & modules:

  • new oscillators (OSC): new Virtual Analog vintage simulation, Frequency Modulation, Phase Distortion, new and enhanced physical models (brass, electromechanical keys, etc.)
  • new sound processors (SFX): comb filter, vocoder, amp simulations, tape delay
  • new modulators (MOD): new physics inspired modulators, looping and multistage envelope

EDIT:

I am such a loser - there appeared last one early early desktop and I was so indecisive in last minute… And it is gone.

Edit: One appeared again… I F5ed the site several times during morning. So I backed it up. It is really near the “advanced sequencer” goal now which is cool. While I do wish them big support I personally don’t really mind those next two goals. The 160k is only for keyboard version and 180k only for people with some (semi)modular stuff.
It would be better if the digital I/O and VST editor came first, because it would be benefit for both - keyboard and desktop users…

Nice that you could bake it !

I’m with you. I’m hopping that we get the advance sequencing to make it more standalone. I think we have good chances to reach it.
Other goals are nice but not very interesting for me but i understand people wanting the poly Aftertouch keyboard (i got the desktop).

Would have been great to have also the wood drumming surface on the desktop module. Someone asked in the comment section.

Yea, I’m wondering about that. Of course, if the ribbon on the desktop module provides the same functionality … ?

I guess it does to some extend which is already good and it looks nice in wood.
I’m wondering if we can add note markers to play correct pitch like on a fretless instrument

“drumming surface” will also be available on the ribbon but with a different shape (ribbon versus trackpad). We have size constraint which would have made it difficult to have the trackpad also on the desktop as this would also have probably meant smaller size ribbon.

Very cool, you confirm my thought

Also I wanted to point out that it’s designed AND manufactured in France  Happy to support you.

Further enhancements and additional features for the part sequencer:

  • expand from 16 to 32 steps
  • polyphonic stepsequencer (up to 128 notes)
  • realtime motion sequencer (realtime or step record of any change on the built-in controllers available on the device)
  • ratchet, swing and probability functions
