Anyma Omega Keyboard and Desktop - New from Aodyo

I think that the final 200k goal is quite realistical now. As I wrote earlier the next two stretches are not really important for me personally, but given that poly aftertouch is just few other units away should push some hesitating people to support Omega as well. Plus we are still only two days in…

I’ll be buying in on a keyboard version tomorrow. Seems like this should have no problem getting to PolyAftertouch @ $160k
I’d suspect they’ll hit all the goals. If they don’t it’s still going to be a beast especially at these early price points

I expect coming up soon Aodyo will lay down more “Stretch Goals”, at increments further out — 200K, 220K, 240K, etc, or something similar. We’ll see exactly what they put in, and how far they go.

They will be busy. Not sure they anticipated such a success. Smart of them to offer two products, both together have created a lot of attention.

That’s a lava lamp…

Agree, I don’t see how they don’t reach 200k.

Backed the keyboard version super early on and I’m very glad I did

Smart of them to have started with the Anyma Phi, which now looks like a proof of concept for the Omegas.

EDIT: No intent to demean the Phi here … I think I’ll be sticking with it, suits me better than the Omega desktop.

And also that they can actually ship a product, reducing the risk when backing on KS…

Actually, you’re right.

Yeah; that delivery makes me a lot more confident that they can do this. That said, the one thing I’d really love to see it’s a statement about whether they’ve managed to pre-aquire a stock of processors, DAC/ADC chips, and anything else on their critical path that’s likely to be subject to shortages or long lead times.

Might actually go ask that on the KS

You would expect that they would already have done their design with parts availability in mind. You can’t know things perfectly, but availability and alternate sourcing just goes along with cost, and several other factors, like reliability, when you do a design.

Them having the manufacturing local also gives them more control, and cuts logistics on manufacture.

Advance sequencing is now unlocked  I’m very excited about it.

Also seems that they’ll split the next stretch goal between desktop and keyboard version. Very nice :+1:

Once we reach the next stretch goal, backers who choose the keyboard option will all get Fatar® model including polyphonic aftertouch. For the Desktop backers, we will buit-in the percussive sensitive feature on the Desktop ribbon.

Trying to reconcile this:

With this:

Does that mean the first statement is only true IF we get to the next stretch goal ?

Ha ha no. In the original teaser they didn’t have much video. Just some sounds playing. And throughout was a percussive pinging on each downbeat like a metronome. It sounded odd and out of place.

In hindsight it was probably an example of tapping on the trackpad sensor thingee.

@bibenu
I may have anticipated slightly (sorry) but keep in mind last time we unlocked the last unreached stretch goal for the Anyma Phi (memory extension)…
(and also implemented later the micro tuning stretch goal, but 9 month after the initial release).

Your anticipation is welcome… I think that stretch is only matter of time. I am glad you think of us desktop supporters.
Anything for the non-eurorack people on the next stop?

You don’t need Eurorack to need and use CV !!

The amount of CV with that goal is absolutely amazing.

  • 8 CV/Gate outputs
  • 4 CV/Gate inputs
  • Clock sync input and output

Wait a minute… I didn’t think about this properly before… You mean I could patch the synth with itself and maybe even interact different timbres with each other?

I hadn’t intended that, but was thinking of all the other non-Eurorack synths that have CV, and/or Clock Sync built into them. CV was the core of synthesis from the beginning, and still is a central communication method.

It would be off-topic to start a list of all the ( non-Eurorack ) synths that have CV as a part of them. Plus it’s easy and economical to drop one Eurorack module into it’s own little box and there is a million ways to use that.

Or look at the inexpensive semi-modular synths out in the world. For instance the Neutron. The Anyma Omega has all sorts of audio in, one of its super powers. It is ready made for external gear.

Note : Every Hydrasynth has a CV interface built in — for a very good reason. Like the Anyma series you can think of the Hydrasynths as a set of modular synths. Look at the internal architecture of the Anyma series, it is very much a modular synth. The CV interface is part of that.

You definitely can also output CV, process it and send it back.

I understand that, I was not really complaining that there could be CV connections… I just try to stay away from this modular universe. And I’ve heard already about those stories “drop one Eurorack module into it’s own little box” - ending with lots of HP racks… I’m afraid that I am be the kind of person that would slip easily, given my path with guitar pedals…
On the other hand, I was thinking about O-Coast. (just i tiny, little one…)

Inside the Anyma Omega there is …

123 different module types … currently available, including 44 sources, 33 FX, and 46 modulators.

For the Anyma series this is …
where it all started.

Take a look at the list if you’d like. That’s what comes inside the Anyma Omega. Another of the super powers of this synth.

ADDED : In the Omega, there are four separate different versions of these, with multiples of each of those to a total of sixteen of them.
