Possible with midi loopback, setting tracks on the same midi channel.
Well, that’s why I said ‘Assignable’ LFO. In the Machinedrum each machine/track had one LFO, but each LFO is assignable to whatever machine/track you wanted. This was handy because often times you’d have a machine/track that didn’t need an LFO, but another track needed more than one. So you could have, for example, 5 LFOs pointing to one machine/track modulating different parameters. The Machinedrum was also amazing because it let you layer or sum two LFOs together to create really interesting modulation capabilities (or you could even have one LFO modulate another LFO for some really complex modulation).
So having one LFO on each Rytm track is really nice, but oftentimes there are tracks I don’t need to use the LFO on and it would be nice to reassign it to a track that does need more than one!
Assignable, yes!
MD is interesting in that concern, but with some major limitations : no lfos for CTR ALL and CTR 8P machines, and for MID machines you can’t control its parameters with its lfo. You have to control a CTR 8P that controls a MID machine.
Octatrack : 48 lfos!
Can we get the pads to light up when sending midi notes out please?
Pad BRIGHTNESS ADJUST PLEASE!!!
please. elektron
I hear you that this is possible with MIDI loopback, which is creative indeed, but I think that workaround then limits too much of the machine’s ‘core’ utility like being able to be synced to another machine via MIDI in. Too much lost for what you gain, in my humble opinion.
Changing the tone on a beat for a same drum (think kick sound on beat one, then same kick on beat 3 w/diff tone using same button) w/in a pattern is something I struggle to find as a feature available on most gear (NI did it really well, but that’s SW based).
Do you have a gear that has your sequencer parameters and has ease of use? I’m looking…
Should work with a midi merger.
Midi is sent with midi Thru, so AR can be master. I never tried.
Anyway it’s funny to test it alone!
Ah…good point…hmmm this is interesting…
I have a suggestion for a new conditional trig for the Elektron sequencer.
In addition to the current condition of only playing the first time the pattern runs, it would be helpful to aid transitions if there was a similar condition for when the pattern is about to move to a new pattern i.e. when a new pattern is queued up, trigs in the current pattern would fire.
I could for example have a pattern which triggers a sample towards the end of a pattern, but only once the next pattern has been selected.
This would make transitions super cool and save me having to paddle the old Fill button etc while I’m busy twiddling other knobs
I would like a shift function for the sample start parameter to let you set how many slices are in your sample chain. That way you would only have to increment 1 to get the next sample when using less than 120. Suggestion for settings would be 10, 15, 30, 40, 60 and 120. This parameter would simply divide the sample start setting.
the only feature that i sometimes miss from the TR-8S (which i only had for a while) is step loop. when the pattern is playing and step loop mode is activated, holding down one or more steps would only play those steps in a cycle. and it’s not track specific, but global, meaning that every track where there is something on a certain step would play back when pressed down. so easy to create fills on the fly with that!
here’s a short video demonstrating the feature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1awgykrjBw
Same! The Volcas have that too, and is pretty much the only thing I miss from them along with being able to select various steps to make a sub-sequence from the 16 steps.
• CTRL ALL
• SLIDE to MIDI OUT
• HiHat MACHINE ala 606
• Scales eg. Major, minor, dorian, mixolydian etc.
• Add one more LFO per track
Dunno if this has been requested but here it is anyway: Conditional locks which play every time EXCEPT specified loops. I find the 1:4 (etc) type of conditional trigs extremely useful, but how’s about a feature which doesn’t play on bar 1, and does play on bars 2, 3, 4. Can’t be that hard to implement and can be represented with the same ratio type readout with a line above, like the others. Let’s have it please!
That s pretty cool!
As an option you can use trigless conditional trigs with 1:4 and not_prev trig condition.
That’s a great tip! I’d still love to see it added as a feature tho
Hi there
This is just a basic shout out to Elektron and to see if i can generate support for a feature in a future update:
Please could we have seperate Sample banks or pools within a project. This would allow us to select a certain pool of sample slots that could be then allocated to the LFO. This could allow for a much more specific use of the LFO…for example if you had a specific set of samples you wished to effect without any other samples being used. EG a set of slices from a longer sample
Please feel free to shoot this post down if im mistaken or stating something beyond the rytms capability even through OS updates.
Cheers Rob
