Ah dang. Well all the more reason they should add a global option to the MK1 if the MK2 has that option!
Lfo to microtiming please! This so would
catapult all machines to another level
yes - a time travel one - leaving aside the conceptual challenge of the sound affecting a pattern only parameter - how (and it’s a rhetorical question to encourage a thought) do you use LFO on a trig to go back in time - does the sequencer need to look ahead of time to evaluate a trig to know to arrive early - how does this pan out ! irrespective of that, imho it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be an elektron thing although i can see teh appeal of humanising sequences, it’s why i dedicate lots of time to variations between passes
Maybe in manifest a dual layered sequencer: one altering the position of the trig(s) and another actual trig playback?
I actually think it shouldn’t be too complicated if it’s possible hardware wise. The combination of lfo to micro timing could nudge all trigs and then offset the lfo back by the same amount, allowing it to work. Of course there would be limits to this, as you can only nudge so much until you shift to another trig. But who would want to go that far? It’s only for minimal amounts usually.
budget workaround:
resample any sound you want your LFO microtime idea affecting with/add a silence before it starts.
nudge a trig the silences length before you want it to sound.
set LFO to sample start.
adjust sample start, LFO depth and speed to taste.
I know of this option, but to me the hassle is just too big. I’m running mk1s. But thanks.
Maybe elektron could have an integrated silence that can be used in front the sample. Don’t know if this would be possible.
An LFO option that combines start and end sample points!
They would move together as one, granting us a huge boost to granular style textures without the loop param of the Digitakt.
i asked for this years ago - it makes a lot of sense as it only costs adding a destination option - you can do it by having two destinations in velocity mod each targeting start and end but it would be far more useful for an lfo where you could jump between certain wave cycles - it only gets a bit conceptually tricky when the max start position is reached, but as it stands on the device it just loops a few samples of audio seemingly such that you hear a tone (my FR would be an option to kill that oscillating for len 0)
Cool trick.
While we are at it LFO to velocity!
A special option to play samples from pool on single track.
It can be implemented like flag for track.
With this flag In chromatic mode each pad increments sample id in pool with constant pitch.
I am planing to downsize my live setup, and this options will be really usefull for me.
Right now I am using dedicated sp404 to play one shot clicks, vocal chops, random staff.
With this “multimap” feature it will be simple on just one RYTM track.
Also it it very useful for fast sketching – just drop all samples into pool and play immediately.
has a savable init project without having to load a different project been mentioned? so basically “create new” uses the template.
I liked redoing the things I do in the beginning as I learned the machine this way. now I just want to get going
Please Elektron implement this, as to some people including me it’s substantial feature.
Its more Overbridge request - > I would like to have the option to record tracks mono using OB and separately record send effects alone on a different track.
i think this is possible already.
the tracks are in mono and get send in mono, afaik
if you want the effects as an extra stereo channel, just disable all tracks for the main out, then all thats left on the main out are the effects… (effect sends)
Hey guys,
it would be really nice to have the option to switch between Global and Pattern mutes. That would make the switch between studio and live use way easier.
A better FM synthesis could be really great !!! the decay on SD FM is really too short.
MP3 ? I like the bit reduction for samples but something like low bit rate compression for give different artifacts.
And please somthings for the engine of toms pads
Dear HooBass,
Have you tried using an impulse machine on the tom pads? Try this:
Assign impulse machine to tom track
turn up resonance (86+) on filter type of your choice
Assign LFO to Filter Freq
Adjust LFO waveform and speed to taste
Adjust filter type, Filter envelope amount, and filter envelope to taste
Play around with it, a lot.
This should get you the FM sounds you are looking for and breathe new life into the tom tracks. I get most of the interesting sounds this way, I almost never use any of the tom machines. Note: impulse machine does not track pitch, so chromatic mode won’t work afaik… tbh, I haven’t tried it.
I hope this helps!
Oh thanks !! It’s great !! I’m on
It work !!
Great! Got bitten by a sample fly, and now I started fancying Rytm as well!
Could it be possible to add more sample smearing cababilities? Perhaps ring mod with analog osc, or sample fm:ing analog osc?
