AR won't turn on!

I used my analog rytm last thing before going to bed, no issues. I woke up today, plugged it in again (same socket), and when I power on I get nothing. It hasn’t dropped, nothing spilled on it, I put it in my desk drawer and it’s just not working. Anything else I plug into that socket works.

Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas?

Check your two part adapter.

I had this happen and found it was the wrong Elektron adapter - 6v Octatrack!

I checked everything:
[ul]
[li]2 part adapter (even switched out the removable part of the adapter in case it was that part)[/li]
[li]Tried different sockets in my apartment and in a music store where they had sockets that were definitely working (they also tried a bunch of things, nothing worked)[/li]
[li]No store in town had another Analog Rytm, and neither do my friends, so I couldn’t use a different adapter in case it was that that shorted (didn’t want to plug any other adapter even if it had the same specs)[/li]
[li]The power supply i have is the ELEKTRON PSU-3, output 12V / 2.5 A / 30W / positive pole - that is the correct one for this device, right?[/li]
[/ul]

I kept trying daily, and last night it just started working. I’m still pretty nervous about this because I didn’t do anything - this might just keep happening and I’d like to know why, especially if it signifies part of the electrical components are working improperly.

the power supply is the exact same for the Analog 4, have one of those around?

do you have a voltage meter?

Did you figure this out? I just got my second hand Rytm, and have now finally been able to turn it on after trying like 5 different sockets, going back to the first socket, and now it turns on. Bloody weird.

I just had this again!

I have everything on one socket, and I didn’t switch the Rytm off yesterday. Now that the main socket is on I realized the Rytm is not on - flipped the switch - nothing (it was really off now). Flipped the switch again - there it is.

This happened before.

Could it be some protection circuit?!

I’ve had this too. Switch it on and the lights flash then nothing.
I found that tapping a pad can kick it into action. It boots with the missing cal:pads message but seems to work fine

Oh woah, just bumped into this exact issue. Thanks for the tip, was already starting to freak out a bit :fearful:

Since the latest firmware this never happened to my MKII again

This happened to me on latest firmware few days ago. Tripped me out. I had to unplug from AC and back in for it to work. 3 month old bought new MK2 black Rytm.

That’s a bummer, I thought they fixed that damn hiccup.
