ARP sounds different on play back

Hi all

I am playing with A4 after long hiatus. When I play the arp freely on the onboard keyboard it sounds great so i tried to live record that into the sequencer. however on playback it doesn’t sound the same. lower pitch and missing a load of upper freq overtones. I have doublechecked that the note info in the sequencer is definitely the same and transpose functions are turned off. I also checked the notes with ARP turned off and they correspond 100% to what I was playing on the keyboard. Any help really appreciated!

Ok! I figured it out! The ARP mode was not set to poly. So it was only playing the root note of my arp progression on playback. Despite me being able to play a full poly arp freely on the A4’s keys. A4 was not in polymode via polyconfig but I guess I assumed all arp modes would play the 2,3,4 notes of arp in any mode. guess not! Only in poly mode!
