Audio over USB into Ableton

Can anyone advise if I can record audio into Ableton from MS’s via USB? It is class compliant so technically it should be possible.

I have tried to add an External Instrument to a midi channel but that will not work.

If I add an Audio Effect that will not do it either.

I have a Motu Ultralite MK3 audio card and have connected Samples directly into Windows 10 PC. Have Ableton mid input/output set to Samples. Ableton audio is ASIO Motu. I think that this is mostl likely why I can’t but unsure if there is a workaround.

Anyone advise please?

I think with mac you can set up a aggregate soundcard to have multiple sound cards
but with windows you must make it the soundcard in Ableton options…
You might as well just record it through your motu soundcard using audio cables…

Someone correct me if I’m wrong please because I normally use overbridge…

That is what I am currently doing. It is a pain that you have to mute 1-6 channels to record in individually. There is a YouTube video where someone has done it by changing the audio to MME/Directx
