They hadn’t released a record for a year then ‘Keep Feeling Fascination’ hit with the Fairlight. The radio Djs kept talking about this new miracle called the Fairlight. They had a great fan base by then but it certainly sold a few tracks out of novelty interest. They paid a fortune for it and in two years it was gathering dust. But they got in first. The people who are making good money on youtube from reviews and patches etc are the first and whilst not making tracks are still noodling.

Yeah bad gear is fun because it looks at a lot of older gear and doesn’t just feel like an ad copy like most of the current synth youtube landscape.
I see why youtubers need to be the first since it’s what rakes in the views thus cash. I think its acting like a two way street though. Sure the youtubers need to review the latest gear cause theres buzz around it, but likewise a lot of us synthheads are constantly looking at the newest shiniest toy because that’s all youtube is promoting because it’s what all the popular channels are putting out.
