Behringer RD-6 606 clone

to be fair… the originals didn’t have any more than this, even if you added midi. and even clones like the Acidlab Miami and Drumatix only do note triggers and overall accent. I think that’s just how the hardware is; i.e. the accent is global for the internal sequencer as well, likely for that reason.

but yeah, it would have been next level to give control over all parameters. which isn’t very much for the 606 clone, but a decent number for the 808 one.

I think in the rd8 if 1 instrument is accented they all are. There is a reason they’re re-writing/reworking the rd8 firmware and delayed the rd9 .

Hopefully this will show they’re making good progress but I think I’ll mostly use built in sequencer.
It’s cheap and likely to be modable.

‘Comprehensive ‘… your reading publicity / marketing / spec sheet. … of course it’s comprehensive

303 and 606 and 808 only had din sync and cv/trigger outs, IIRC.
The 909 had midi.

that’s why I said “even if you added midi”

@darenager @chiasticon youse guys need to stop making sense!

sigh i’d pay the extra cash for a better Midi implementation. The Deepmind is not that expensive, I found out that it was actually designed by engineers at Klark Teknik. all the new stuff is a completely different team.

The Cyclone Analogic TT-606 has midi cc control and editable sounds (to varying degrees) but it doesn’t sound exactly like a TR-606, in the ballpark but the Behringer is probably closer from the demo I heard of it when it was first announced.

At this point, I just load up the Rytm with 606 samples and just go at it.

I use 606 samples quite often in my M:S as well but this would free up a few tracks pretty neatly.

you’re not in their target market then

Well clearly. Worse possible product at the best possible price.

I expect they’ll do a run of colourful td3 too , so you can match transparent purple rd6 with transparent green td3.

I’m not sure people will buy multiple rd6 like td3.

They’ve already announced that, I believe.

A new genre of music is going to emerge as kids find these in the 2nd hand markets because of the saturated market. Post Electro/Acid. I’m calling it now, Elicid.

I’ll be super impressed with anyone who can do something truly new with a 303 or 606. Looking forward to it.

It’s doesn’t have to be new, it’s just has to be new to the “kids.” Look at trap music and 808 samples.

It does for my subjective statement to be true. I won’t be impressed by more trap!

Thanks!
Looking at the panel closer, I’m wondering can each sound/track have its own scale and length? If so that is a huge deal.
And does the “Random” just insert random notes or do other things? Can accent be randomized?
Also it does indeed say “BR110” on the panel switch, which makes me think that indeed there will be a DR-110 clone as well.
