to be fair… the originals didn’t have any more than this, even if you added midi. and even clones like the Acidlab Miami and Drumatix only do note triggers and overall accent. I think that’s just how the hardware is; i.e. the accent is global for the internal sequencer as well, likely for that reason.
but yeah, it would have been next level to give control over all parameters. which isn’t very much for the 606 clone, but a decent number for the 808 one.
sigh i’d pay the extra cash for a better Midi implementation. The Deepmind is not that expensive, I found out that it was actually designed by engineers at Klark Teknik. all the new stuff is a completely different team.
The Cyclone Analogic TT-606 has midi cc control and editable sounds (to varying degrees) but it doesn’t sound exactly like a TR-606, in the ballpark but the Behringer is probably closer from the demo I heard of it when it was first announced.
A new genre of music is going to emerge as kids find these in the 2nd hand markets because of the saturated market. Post Electro/Acid. I’m calling it now, Elicid.
Thanks!
Looking at the panel closer, I’m wondering can each sound/track have its own scale and length? If so that is a huge deal.
And does the “Random” just insert random notes or do other things? Can accent be randomized?
Also it does indeed say “BR110” on the panel switch, which makes me think that indeed there will be a DR-110 clone as well.
