Hi!
As Overbridge works really well in terms of bringing my AR and A4 Signals into my laptop I was wondering what would be the best way to sync them to my daw (abet on Live 9.2).
I read that Live isn"t generating a imd stable midi clock so I thought that I send a midi clock from the rytm via midi to the a4 and via usb to live. However it seems that Live isn’t starting on time reliably when starting the sequencer of my rytm.
I adjusted the sync offset by ear using a 4/4 bass drum in lvd as well as the rytm and matching them (not sure if there are better ways to do so?)
The timing in general still seems to be unreliable caused from what I think not starting at the right time (an offset live keeps a constant offset value).
As I can’t pay for a midi clock generator (never thought those would be so expensive) at the moment I am welcoming every idea.
Hello you need to activate the SYNC in the Parameter wheel at the up and right corner of the plugin… And find the best value for Buffer PAY ATTENTION you have Buffer in Ableton and Buffer for the Sync between AR and Overbridge Plugin…
Also without Overbridge and without SYNC pay solution you can TRY this :
I recommend when play to have a small buffer and REC normal buffer (Depend if you need to play something on top of everything in sync or not). PAY ATTENTION every plugin you add you change the timing sync… So…
Thanks for your answers.
Unfortunately when syncimg to live i get some problems now and then which get corrected atuomatically but it is not the best solution (maybe i am doing something wrong!)
Bufferwise live and ob are set to 256. For input i have choosen the a4 for output my onboard card as the output latency seems to be a bit less (will the a4 allow for lower buffersize than my onboard and would it be wise to use that one instead?).
If I would buy a clock generator would everything work properly?
I read about the a4 being a bit predelayed when using the sync to ableton function. So right now I am quite confused.
Don’t want to buy an Octatrack (at the moment as I hope there will be an ob version at one point) so I am still in need for live to use samples.
So far, MIDI + tweaking delay has still been a lot more stable for me than syncing via OB. OB sync is almost a 16th note too late at 120bpm for me and I’ve tried everything including different computers and even usb cable lengths.
It is way less here but still not satisfying and/or rslieable.
Can’t help myself thinking that there is 1000 better things to spend a grand for than a clock generator.
Maybe they will get it right with an update
Hi,

Yep, after testing a few hours I must say OB´s sync don´t work proper.
At least in my setup. Win10 64bit 256 buffersize and CUB8. and AK.
Via Midiclock from Cub. it works stable but sync with OB often stutter or has a big delay when starts.
The delay also differs every time I stop and start the song in Logic Pro X which probably means that automation won’t really work that accurately either…
