Bouncing/Exporting audio from ableton with overbridge

So Im using the rytm with only 1 kick channel through overbridge 1.15 and latest ableton Live pro but when I come to export a simple 16bit aif file, the finished result is a glitchy screechy piece of digital noise with some of the music as normal but the hits from the rytm all out of whack.

I also tried bouncing by just playing ableton live and recording with Audio hijack but even that produced some minor glitches probably cos of ram .

I have 8gb ram macbook pro dual core 2013 and no other apps running.

Does anyone else have problems bouncing audio from live using overbridge?

I hope its not just my unit, but after reading many of the problems people are having with the rytm I expect its common.

Thanks

Are the sample rate and buffer sizes the same on Overbridge and in Ableton Live?

I believe the buffer size in the rytm was set at 64 and live at 256 Ill check and post back later. Although in the overbridge window it said the buffer size doesnt affect audio card bizness. Pretty sure sample rate is all at 44.1 - Ill check

Thanks for your suggestions

Get those parameters to match and you should be fine; rytm sample rate is 48k and you’ll likely need a buffer size of 128 or 256 on both devices for stable operation.

Now Ive seen the rytm mark 2 is coming with increased bandwidth for overbidge it makes me think this is a limited hardware issue that the first rytm will not likely overcome sadly. I want to use overbridge because i like the workflow, I just hope they still bother with updates until they sort out this issue.

For reference in the track you can hear the kick on beat 1 and 3 is sampled in my mac and the 2 and 4 beat comes from the rytm and the hat is from a sampler in live, and halfway through all that squiggly noise is from the rytm too.

Im not sure what else i can do im only using one kick from the rytm so its not like im asking it to do a lot

overbridge is not really suitable for offline audio rendering in ableton AFAIK? You should use realtime direct-to-audiotracks clip recording instead. Use the input selectors creatively and you can record in various ways (bussed/summed/etc) as well.

OK Thanks for that - Im relieved I suppose to know its not just my machine

I have a similar problem with my A4 mk2 und my Rytm mk2 running overbridge 2.0.31 on Ableton Live 10.1. When I export to mp3 I will only hear the tracks using samples and not the overbridge tracks. Anybody got this working? Any ideas on how to fix this? Or is it not possible with tracks using overbridge?

To solve it you need to make Ableton Live render in real time. Unlike Cubase Live has not a switch to do this. You need
To use the “External Audio Effect” to force Live to render in real time.

Using External Audio Effect

  1. Add Live’s ‘External Audio Effect’ device to a spare audio track
  2. Within the ‘External Audio Effect’ device, select any channels for “Audio From”. It is not necessary to choose a channel for “Audio To”
  3. Set the Dry/Wet knob to zero percent
  4. Press CMD (Mac) /CTRL (Windows) + Shift + R to export the audio
  5. Live now renders the Set in real-time
