The debut Crosby, Stills & Nash 1969 debut was the first album I ever enjoyed listening to from beginning to end. Mystical and beguiling, it painted a picture of American beauty like no other.
The vocal harmonies were what trained me to sing - Ma and I would sing Guinnevere, Wooden Ships and Helplessly Hoping many times together as I grew up. I also remember learning to play Helplessly Hoping on guitar, a beautiful piece of music which, along with Guinnevere, remains one of my favourite pieces of music of all time.
Farewell David, thank you.
