I am looking for decent cables to sample the M:C with my Rolandy 404mkII. And not to forget for jamming together as well.
Are the Vovox sonorus direct S100 TRS/TRS overkill? Or is it the wrong cable per se? ,-)
You need two 6,3mm (1/4") TS (mono) cables, or one cable with two of these jacks on each side. It definitely doesn’t need to cost 60€! Any cable will do, but durability in mind I would’t buy the cheapest

Yes. Although it should also work with TRS style cables (i think 
) there is no benefit in doing this. I looked up the specs and while the output of the M:C can also be used with TRS style cables for a balanced connection, the audio in of the SP-404 can not.
