Title says it all. Can the chord and scale mode be used to trigger external devices (ie do single key presses trigger a chord, and does scale filter out the wrong notes sent to another device?) I seem to remember this being a limitation with the original DN - pressing the trig keys in chord/scale mode and only root notes were transmitted over midi and they weren’t necessarily in scale. Correct?
I am able to transmit chords in scale from the DN to external MIDI poly synths using all four external MIDI tracks. No problem. It will trigger up to four notes per external MIDI track, as long as it’s not triggering a mono. It works for both playing the DN live or for its sequencer. Same goes with the scale mode. I use this feature to trigger chord pads into a Rev2 on one MIDI track in Chord mode, while I play live the Rev’s keys on top with a separate external MIDI track in Scale mode.
In short, it works how you want.

Nice one! And I’m right in thinking original DN doesn’t do this from its trig keys, correct?
I have the original DN, no keys. I purchased it in early 2019, so I’m not sure which firmware update added this ability.
However, no arp for the external MIDI tracks. At least every polysynth has its own arp.

For the original Dígitone - the chord and scale triggering for external MIDI tracks works much the same as it does for its internal synth tracks. I’m sure it works the same as it does for the Digitone Keys.
I wish I had purchased the keys, though. But instead, I mocked it when it was released.

I didn’t…I thought it was the sexiest synth I had ever seen…I still feel like that, then the price dropped, which is rare for electron it seems… and I knew I had to have one. I had gas for a long time and a bunch of new stuff came in the market and tempted me but I never forgot the digitone keys, and I finally got one last week!! I got the elektron bag too so I can take it with me!! It took a year but totally worth it!! Love this thing!! I love is self sustaining and I don’t really need other gear to make a song, but if I want it can become a matter controller very well too!!
I love it more then my prophet 6 I think… I feel sorry saying that but it’s true… it is easy more my personality and fm is the sound of my childhood, although I still love analog too.
