I have both and I have found the midi sequencer on the Octatrack has some benefits I miss on the Digitone. For example when constructing a chord on the Octatrack you set a root note and then the chord is constructed using intervals rather than notes. So it is something like root note +5 +7 +24. It is only four notes I know but this leads me to something else I miss. When changing the root note the trigs do not update on the Digitone the way they do on the Octatrack which allows you to experiment more with harmony without going and clearing all the trigs. This has the added benefit of modulating chords into a different keys as the chords are built on intervals not notes. Can the Digitone be configured to work this way?
