Can we trig and stop record by step?

Hi there,

Thinking deep to buy a couple of Elektron machines. Especially, if like to use them in many different contexts from live performances with my computer in the center of the triggering stage, to smaller project in studio, to standalone etc.

I’d like to know of Digitakt can sample itself and if we can use trig for starting, and stopping to record like with machinedrum uw and what I was doing something like 10 years ago:

No, you’ll need Octatrack (or MD) for that.

Edit: I’m referring to recorder trigs. That’s not possible on Digitakt. But DT can resample itself.

OK. This is because of ram machines which are not machines available in New devices. I got it.
