how much of the dry signal that you are initially sending out of the mixer to the Gen Loss are you hearing in the final mix?
I generally don’t want to hear any of the dry signal at the end of the parallel FX chain.
oh sorry, I was asking JamesM
My bad.
It’s on one of two fx sends. So it’s mixed back in at whatever level sounds good at the time.
Basically for the reason LyingDalai mentioned.
Sounds really great! But i can’t hear the GL on the sounds. Probably only subtle settings?
Yes, subtle settings: no wow, just a little bit of flutter and saturation, plus the tape stop effect…
Thanks for listening!
Ok received my GL today and it sounds absolutely awful, like totally broken. So, if I follow MurciaParkers settings above, mine sounds like an absolute mess of distortion and noise - horrible. Even if I have all of the settings at 7 o)clock, it sounds dreadful. Like, if I hold a chord, it starts of ok-ish, then after a second or two, this horrible digital distortion comes in and completely takes over the signal.
User error or completely broken?
My first thought when reading this, especially with it changing over time, is that ‘Ramping’ might be engaged - make sure no dip-switches are set to ‘on’ in the expression/ramp section.
All of the dip-switches were down but I’ve manually moved them all to up and then back to down again and this seems to have worked - thank you
I have a Gen Loss Mk2 (recent batch with the newer firmware and bass mod) and just acquired a Mk1 (2019 chase bliss version) in a trade. I’m considering flipping it but will also run a comp between classic mode mono in/out on the mk2 vs the mk1. Anyone else run these two side by side? I would guess they are almost identical but maybe the hi pass filter that was modded out of the mk2 is present on the mk1 for better (or just different) tonal application with guitars.
looking forward to hearing your thoughts after your comparison
anybody compare the original MK1 with the MK2? I know there’s a classic emulation on the MK2 but it seems different from what I remember when I owned a MK1.
Just opened up the box. No one told me there was a VHS pin badge included! Who cares about the pedal, I’m gonna be rocking that pin badge down to the pub for Sunday lunch today.
Well, sold mine yesterday. Gave it one last go, wasn’t feeling it. Hopefully the next user likes it better than I did!
A little cross posting here, with a track I made through the GenLossMKII from my piano, and some Mood thrown in for good measure - all in one take, as I played the piano and tried to get the kids to be quiet -
I think the real reason it’s called Generation Loss is if you try to sell it, you’ll lose money
Depends on how you bought it
