Chase Bliss Generation Loss MKII

was yours an original or the modified version, looks like the OG is going for more on reverb saw one for over 7 bills not that it’s guaranteed to sell for that though?

wondering which version won the generation loss shootout

I read the funniest thing a couple of years ago when Tom was still doing Cooper FX and he had announced the Generation Loss V2. I saw someone trying to argue online that the limited edition Chase Bliss pedal would still be superior to the new V2 because the DSP or whatever chips were different enough that the Chase Bliss pedal was obviously better. And tthe V2 hadn’t even been heard or seen yet but the public. That was around the time that the Chase Bliss version was going for around $1000, so they must have spent a mint on that and felt the need to defend it.

I remember similar talk on ig, I would like to try out an modified version to compare but I don’t want to through having to send it back if I prefer the one I have or getting rid of the one I have if I like the modded version.

Totally seems like a switch could be possible.

What’s the modded version?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the bass response mod.

I have had this pedal for a few months and in the box. Awaiting a number of items
to complete a pedalboard. Been busy and held off using it until now. I am getting a loud
mechanical relay/click sound when activating/deactivating the pedal. My other Chase Bliss pedals do not do this at all, nor do any of my other numerous pedals.

I cannot seem to find examples online of this noise being demonstrated. Can anyone offer their experience? I fear there is an electrical issue in this pedal…which is totally unused and brand new.

edit-- My Mood MKII (which also has the same jack setup and MISO switch) does not make this noise in either STEREO IN, nor MONO IN. When I switch the Gen Loss to MISO, the click goes away. I would expect these pedals to behave the same.

Thanks!

My GenLoss mkII doesn’t do this. However, my Mood mkI does! CBA support suggested I open the Mood and apply pressure to some points on the circuitboard (they sent a diagram). It didn’t make much difference. I’m very erratic at making time for this hobby so I’ve not re-tested it enough to make it worth contacting support again. I will do eventually.

Thanks for your input. Is your pedal the modded version? Mine is and came from CBA like that.

My GenLoss is unmodded - so maybe that has some impact on the “bangs”.

For my Mood, CBA said it might be that the mother and daughter boards weren’t properly aligned/attached, causing electrical issues… hence the suggestion to push them closer. I dunno tho’…

Darn…I think it’s just “solved” by turning on buffered bypass!

Was just about to suggest that… congrats

Good call. That’s some good information

last call, did most of you guys end up with the modded version or kept the original version?

I kept the original, the low frequencies filtering doesn’t bother me much, rather convenient in fact, because I use it mostly as a send effect.
I like it like this.

Got the mod. Much prefer it and am very happy with it now.

Can someone who owns GLMK2 and AHFX do a comparison video between the two and see how close the AHFX can match the GLMK2?
