CHNG not working on SONG mode? Bug?

I am using patterns in Advanced mode in a Song (polyrhythmic), and they won’t change to the next when using CHNG set to a value. It only changes patterns when they have LEN other than INF. I’ve tried Sequential, Direct Start, Direct Jump modes, same results.

Basically, it is impossible to have polyrhytmic patterns in a song.

The manual has no mention of this.
Is this a bug?

This has been asked numerous times, but it’s not clear if Elektron considers this a bug.
The behaviour got confirmed by Elektron years ago but nothing has changed since.
There are workarounds though.
