Wow i really loved death stranding, I thought I was in an extreme minorityā¦it takes a while for all of the mechanics to fully reveal themselves but itās incredible, the story is peak Kojima as in it makes little sense at time, and is super on the nose at others but is ultimately really satisfying.
Limbo, Inside- the most satisfying games Iāve played in recent history
Return to Obra Dinn - Limit the amount of information you research on this one before playing it. One of the most satisfying puzzle games I have ever played.
Celeste- and Iām not even a fan of platformers, but itās very hard to put down.
Beholder when itās on sale. Itās morally compelling.
Layers of Fear- minimal gameplay, but BlooberTeam are masters of creating atmosphere.
I donāt get to very often so Iāve been taking advantage of some extra game time and mainly playing older stuff with Open Emu:
Super Punch Out
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Pikmin
NHL Hitz
I also tried the original Animal Crossing but ehh itās not as much fun right now.
I also have Assassinās Creed: Origins and Shadow Of Mordor and Shadow Of War on PS4, and have been wanting to play through the Batman Arkham games again but thereās only so much time in the day, even during quarantine.
Rebelstar raiders too.
Your comment about no progress from 8 bit - yes!
I wonder if itās just one programmer not effected by capitalist deadlines or if we are just getting old
I used to play Command and Conquer Red Alert on a 3 computer lan with my neighbor and older brother back in the day. Other games that got rotation on the lan were Starcraft, Warcraft, Total Annihilation, and much later Warhammer 40K Dawn of War. Such great times!
If we want to go way back, how about old school Sierra Games? Kingās Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest. Quest for Glory series was my favorite by far. Loom was great too, though not Sierra. Rex Nebular was a funny one too and had great graphics for the time. We also used to play a lot of the original Mechwarrior. Great times those were.
